| Peruvian Boy To God: "I Hate You And Will Never Forgive You!" |
Missions News: Outreach
(Faith Telegraph April 3, 2009) “I hate you and will never forgive you!” Paul screamed at God as his mother died of cancer in his arms. A young boy from a poor neighborhood in Lima, Peru, Paul had seen more than his fair share of pain. His father was a criminal, and his grandmother was emotionally abusive. He had struggled with depression, and had been witnessed to by a cult that left him with many questions. When missionaries with Youth With A Mission Pittsburgh first met Paul on their outreach to Lima, they had no idea what pain and hardships this young boy had endured. "We began to answer his questions and we could see that God was beginning a work in his heart," they report. "A week later, our team followed up with him and brought him to church. He loved the church service so we invited him to come to our summer missions program, Joshua Generation, which started the following week." "Joshua Generation" is a missions school that begins with a 9 day training period followed by a 10 day outreach. The first 9 days is spent experiencing God and learning how to hear His voice. The “JGers” learn different methods of evangelism and how to share their faith. It was during this time that Paul had an experience with God. "He forgave God and accepted him as the Lord and Savior of his life," says the team. "He also called his grandmother and asked for forgiveness, which then led to his grandma apologizing for the way she had been treating him." During the outreach, God used Paul to transform the lives of many people by leading them to the Lord. "He is a very good soccer player, which God used during outreach as he helped the team run a soccer clinic for the kids of the neighborhood we were working in," the team explains. One of the kids he met was named Armando, who confessed that he was being abused by his dad. Paul shared the love of Christ with him and led him to the Lord. Paul experienced true healing that can only come through Christ, but he didn’t allow that to be the end of his story. "He used his newly transformed life to transform the lives of others" the team reports. "If we allow him, God will use our lives to impact so many around us!" Read More: Links:

Missions News: Outreach

(Pasadena, CA) Thousands of Hispanics attended a massive crusade this past weekend seeking an encounter with Christ. Missionary Evangelist Jason Frenn combined forces with Radio Nueva Vida, the biggest Hispanic Christian radio network in the United States, to reach nearly 6,500 Hispanics in two presentations at one of the biggest in-door venues in Pasadena, California. Thousands committed their lives to Christ, with over 600 first-time decisions. "There were many outstanding testimonies," said Jason Frenn. One lady that attended invited "nine people to come with her to the event. She drove hundreds of miles and saw every one of them walk forward and give their hearts to Christ." Another came with her mother and brought 20 other people to the outreach, "including her brother who is from Las Vegas and her husband who had been bound by drugs. Both her husband and brother gave their hearts to the Lord at the altars of repentance at the event this past Saturday." Another individual came worried about her son, whom she had not seen for over four months. "Worried sick about his welfare, she went forward for prayer, and God touched her life. He filled her with peace -- peace that passes all understanding. The following day, her son called and asked her for forgiveness, and they were reunited. He had fallen into drugs but within the recent weeks, he re-dedicated his life to Christ, and God delivered him from the chains of drug addiction."
Since 1996, Jason has preached more than 50 crusades throughout Central America, Mexico and the United States. Jason has written 2 books, Power To Change, and Breaking the Barriers. Radio Nueva Vida is a radio network based in California that focuses on a Spanish-Christian format of music and talk. Read More: Links:

Missions News: Outreaches (Panama) A Panamanian was recently inspired by an unusual sight for a missions team: their love and joy as one of their own repented and accepted Jesus Christ as savior. Missionaries Jennifer and Alex Cabezon explain that they have spent the past week working with a team of 39 young people, most of them between 15 and 16 years old. The team was involved in ministry in Panama City and in indigenous villages. On Wednesday, the group was in San Antonio, and the team was having a Bible study after a full day of work. One of the team members had accepted Christ that day and the whole group gathered around for a group hug and prayed for her. One of the Panamanians who was watching was touched: "Why can't we Wounaan be like that? Why can't we love others like that, since we are Christians? These people have a true Christianity." Those that question the value of short-term missions might take note: Here is a group of teenagers that came through Panama for just a week, knowing little about the culture or any ministry strategies or methods, and one of them had not even accepted Christ! Yet God used this group of teenagers and their love for Him, and even their repentance, to inspire those around them in ways no one could have expected. Missions News: Outreaches
(Montevideo, Uruguay) Inspired by the Gospel's message of hope and forgiveness, 8,249 people responded to the invitation to commit their lives to Jesus Christ during Franklin Graham's Festival of Hope this past weekend in Uruguay. "Since coming here I have learned that while this is a wonderful country, there are some problems," said Graham. "About 81 percent believe in God but they don't trust God to solve problems. One out of four people in Uruguay suffer from depression and many turn to drugs to solve their problems. But I want to tell you tonight that God has the solution to your problems." On Saturday morning, 25,000 filled Charrua Stadium for "Festiniños," a program of fun drama and music that teaches kids about God's love, where 4,835 children and parents responded to the invitation to follow Jesus Christ. "This is historic. We've never seen anything like this and the church here is excited," said Ernesto Dueck, a missionary who was born and raised in Uruguay, helped lead the My Hope project in Uruguay and also served on the Festival's local executive committee. "Now it's time to follow up. This week, every church in every neighborhood in Montevideo and surrounding towns and cities of Uruguay will make contact with the people who were saved at the Festival. As we follow up, these people will be connected to the local churches and the church will continue to grow and work together more and more in a united way, and we will see Uruguay come to know Jesus." The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association began efforts to reach the hearts of people in Uruguay two years ago with the My Hope television broadcasts, which were aimed at evangelizing South America's most secular nation. My Hope aired in more than 14,000 homes from Sept. 27-29, 2007, leading more than 33,000 people to commit their lives to Jesus Christ. A highlight of this evangelistic outreach came over the weekend with 700 churches and 64 denominations participating in the Festival of Hope with Franklin Graham, which drew 71,000 people - a number unprecedented for a Christian event in Uruguay. The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association reports that it will continue to work with local churches to follow up with the thousands of new believers who came forward during Festival of Hope. ______________________________________________________________________________ The International Faith Telegraph http://www.faithtelegraph.com The latest and most unique Christian news stories from around the world.
