Missions Team Inspires By Their Own Repentance

Missions News: Outreaches

(Panama)  A Panamanian was recently inspired by an unusual sight for a missions team:  their love and joy as one of their own repented and accepted Jesus Christ as savior.

Missionaries Jennifer and Alex Cabezon explain that they have spent the past week working with a team of 39 young people, most of them between 15 and 16 years old. The team was involved in ministry in Panama City and in indigenous villages.

On Wednesday, the group was in San Antonio, and the team was having a Bible study after a full day of work.  One of the team members had accepted Christ that day and the whole group gathered around for a group hug and prayed for her.

One of the Panamanians who was watching was touched: "Why can't we Wounaan be like that?  Why can't we love others like that, since we are Christians? These people have a true Christianity."

Those that question the value of short-term missions might take note:  Here is a group of teenagers that came through Panama for just a week, knowing little about the culture or any ministry strategies or methods, and one of them had not even accepted Christ!  Yet God used this group of teenagers and their love for Him, and even their repentance, to inspire those around them in ways no one could have expected.
